Ho Chi Minh City, 5th March 2008- ProPak Vietnam 2008 and PIA Vietnam 2008 opened its door today to what is the largest international exhibition for the processing, packaging and laboratory equipment and technology. An estimated 9,000 trade professionals are expected to visit the vent over the next 4 days.
The exhibition was officially opened by the supporting Ministries, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the international organisers Bangkok Exhibition Services (BES) and the local organisers VCCI Exhibition Services. Mr. Dung, theFirst Vice Chairman of VCCI, in his opening address explained that “exhibiting companies had increased by 26% in comparison with last year’s show”, he remarked that “this outcome is self-explanatory of the exhibition’s efficiency and good impact on entrepreneurs”.
ProPak Vietnam 2008 is the 4th International Processing, Filling and Packaging Exhibition and Conference for Vietnam and has drawn a total of 169 exhibitors from 23 countries with machinery and products serving multiple industry sectors including food, beverage, cosmetics, healthcare, pharmaceutical, retail and industrial products. Included in the event are five national groups from Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and the United Kingdom as well as leading global brands including KHS, Mettler Toledo, Bossar, Zwick, S+S, Jacob White, Mitsuya, Ishida, Norden, Sanwa and SIPA.
For the first time in 2008 ProPak Vietnam co-locates with PIA Vietnam, this new show has been launched to enable Vietnam’s process engineering, manufacturing, R&D, scientific and educational communities make contact with suppliers of 115 companies from Asia, Europe and the USA. Commenting on the co-location and market opportunities David Aitken, General Manager of BES, explained at the opening ceremonythat in Vietnam “the annual target for production growth in all agricultural sectors has been set at 15% and for export turnover a remarkable 12% annual growth up to 2010. All these factors require a high-level of investment and a high-level of technical advancement which is the role that ProPak & PIA have been established to serve for the benefit of Vietnam’s manufacturing growth”.
ProPak Vietnam 2008 and PIA Vietnam 2008 are being held from 5-8 March 2008 at the HIECC, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The shows are open from 0900-1700 hours from 5-7 March and from 0900-1300 hours on 8th March. |
